The mainstream media call them “moderate” or “centrist” Democrats. Nowadays, that means they’re a tad less left wing than other Democrats. These centrists represent districts that Donald Trump won in 2016. There are 31 in all. Six are on record for impeachment. The rest won’t say where they stand. They’re in binds. Their party’s base voters are rabid for impeachment. But Republican and independent voters aren’t. The centrists wish impeachment would disappear.

Canada’s progressive prime minister, Justin Trudeau apologized after a 2001 photo emerged in a Time magazine report showing him wearing brown-face makeup to an “Arabian Nights” party at the private school where he was teaching.

“I shouldn’t have done that. I should have known better, but I didn’t and I’m really sorry,” Trudeau told reporters. “I take responsibility for my decision to do that. I shouldn’t have done that. I should’ve known better. It was something that I didn’t think was racist at the time but now I recognize that it was something racist to do and I’m deeply sorry.”

House lawmakers will return to the Capitol from a lengthy summer vacation to find that they are already in the midst of an impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

They have taken no vote on the matter, but Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, New York Democrat, has repeatedly told federal judges in recent weeks that it’s exactly what he is doing as he investigates Mr. Trump’s behavior toward Russia and suspected efforts to thwart FBI and special counsel investigations.
