Prevarication is the coin of the political realm. No political party or ideology has a monopoly on it. But when one party is in charge in Washington, and so much of their agenda hangs on Americans believing falsehoods, it is important to point it out.
The Democratic Party has lost a lot of support among middle-class working voters. They have lost some support among blacks and Hispanics. They are increasingly, compared to Republicans, the party of the rich. They depend on an ability to cobble together a loose coalition of groups, who have little else in common, on election day. As of August, 2020, we Americans are embroiled in an intensifying cold civil war. Democrats and the left are the aggressors. Cancel culture is a chief weapon. It’s not being employed wholesale – yet – but is being selectively used as a means of instilling fear in the citizenry. Cancel culture, in other words, is a terror weapon.
As morally repugnant as cancel culture is, in war the question is invariably asked: Must we fight fire with fire? Must we cancel the left and its allies to stop their Jacobin terror? It’s a legitimate question.
[snip] They think the American people are weak and soft and submissive. But no, the American people are strong and proud, and they will not allow our country, and all of its values, history, and culture, to be taken from them.
Did Donald Trump’s stirring speech at Mt. Rushmore signal the end of patriots’ Summer of Paralysis? For paralysis right-thinking Americans have suffered. Until Independence Day, the president seemed oddly subdued too.
BLM and ANTIFA backed mobs are doing their level best to tear down America. It’s an ongoing project under the guise of moral outrage. Portraits and statues of long dead Confederates are the offenders. And, increasingly, non-rebel historic figures, like U.S. Grant and George Washington, among other founders. Images of the Europeanized Jesus and stained glass windows are up next. The white-skinned portrayal of Jesus makes him an eternal racist and slaveholder, intimates BLM savants.
“What I’m saying to Black America, we must stop victimizaton [sp]. We must stop complaining about what white folks have done to us in the past. We must go into ourselves, as Dr. King said, and find indelible ink — our own emancipation proclamation.”
Black generational poverty is a fact. It’s persisted, if not increased, since Lyndon Johnson’s “Not-So-Great-Society” was launched in the mid-1960s. That seems contrary to common sense, but it isn’t. You must look deeper – to the facts and politics – to appreciate why Democrats’ policies and governance have failed poor blacks, spectacularly.
Someone who dozed off in the mid-1960s and woke up yesterday would have a hard time understanding what the major political parties stand for. On some issues, there appears to have been a switch more extreme than the trans-gender surgeries that we are now supposed to think turn a man into a woman. That isn’t possible, of course, but we’re supposed to pretend it is.
Through much of history, the Democrats have positioned themselves as defenders of liberty, advocates of civil rights, and the party of the oppressed. Even as recently as the Obama years, you couldn’t swing a dead cat (not that one often does that under any circumstances) without hitting a Democrat who was criticizing police and law enforcement in general, because common assumptions were that cops were a problem. The pejorative “pig,” used to attack police officers, was popularized by mainly Democratic activists and their enablers in public office.
“We will not prosecute cases involving quality-of-life crimes,” he said. “Crimes such as public camping, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, blocking a sidewalk, etc., should not and will not be prosecuted. Many of these crimes are still being prosecuted; we have a long way to go to decriminalize poverty and homelessness.”
You can’t make this up. Six cops were wounded in a shootout with a bad dude in the Nicetown-Tioga neighborhood in Philly. Looks like Nicetown has some really mean streets. Locals turned against cops there, too. Cop hate is growing worse by the day. Beat cops in America’s gritty cities aren’t the only ones at risk, though. Continue reading →
