Anti-Trumpers, as a group, have received more than their fair share of attention. They fulfill the wildest dreams of many on the left and in the media, but I repeat myself, because they love nothing more than disloyal Republicans.

It brings them even more joy if they blame Trump for specific atrocities. A home run for them is when RINOs place blame on Trump for the “deadly” actions on January 6. Such accusations are uninformed, politically bigoted, or both. Blaming acts of violence on the politicians the criminals support is almost never reasonable and represents lazy and misleading thinking.

Some of the most astute analysis of Labour’s thumping loss has come from Lisa Nandy, member of Parliament for Wigan, who resigned from Corbyn’s shadow Cabinet in 2016 over his management and her party’s Brexit position. Nandy is an outside shot for the leadership, but she has impressed with her straight talk on where the party went off the rails. Speaking about feedback from voters, she says:

“There was just a general sense that at the top of the Labour Party we don’t speak for people like them anymore, a sense we don’t have skin in the game, that we’re not rooted in those communities, and we’re just not like them, and we don’t come very often to just ask people what they think and to listen to what they’ve got to say.” [bold added]

In a weak and fractured Democratic field, Bernie’s minions may just get him to the top. Let’s assume, too, that Liz Warren folds tent. Sopping up her leftist support only strengthens Bernie. Or better positions him to claim the nomination come the summer.

It’s astonishing how politically bifurcated we have become. Many people who’ve spent years supporting politicians who are seriously flawed – liars, crooks, hypocrites –have adopted faux outrage over everything done by President Trump. Some Democratic leaders announced before Trump was even inaugurated that they wanted to impeach hm. Their entire agenda, for more than three years, has been driven by a single goal: to get rid of Trump. They put politics ahead of the national good, consistently and reliably. (There are days that I wish Republicans in Congress were as disciplined and committed as the Democrats.)

Boudin, whose parents are convicted members of the radical and violent Weather Underground, is the latest practical expression of the ongoing social breakdown in a once magnificent city. The San Francisco Police Officers Association and the San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs’ Association describe Boudin as a “dangerous choice” and “communist radical of sorts.”
