Confidence In Joe Biden

The 20th anniversary of 9/11 falls tomorrow. Joe Biden’s abject surrender in Afghanistan led to the deaths of U.S. soldiers and a lot of innocents. Biden needs to be held strictly accountable for his abominable leadership (if you care to call it that).

Here are excerpts from my latest at American Thinker:

On Thursday, August 26, Joe Biden made a contribution to the terror war… against us. On that infamous day, a suicide bomber attacked the Kabul airport, killing 13 U.S. soldiers and at least 170 Afghanis. How many of the dead Afghanis were American citizens is unreported. The deaths didn’t have to happen. Joe Biden made them happen.

Subsequent to the terror attack, in a televised address, Biden brazenly declared what an “extraordinary success” his cut-and-run was from Afghanistan. Only in the morally upside-down world of progressives and jaded D.C. players can ignominy, disaster, and deaths of innocents be the stuff of a victory lap.

The men and women (among them first responders) who died on 9/11 and America’s fighting men and women who’ve since surrendered their lives to defeat the Islamic terrorist menace deserve far better from a president. These braves souls didn’t die in vain. They and we the living deserve far, far better from a commander-in-chief than the cut-and-run that Biden gave us in Afghanistan. God bless America.

Calling America a Cult Is Useful for Leftists and Anti-Trumpers

The nature of politics is that people don’t always have to answer for their actions and mistakes. Same goes for life in general. That’s probably a good thing. Count me among those who wouldn’t look forward to such an exercise, at least not in a terrestrial environment. I expect to be held accountable in the next life, but if I can skate for a while, in this one, cool.

Yet, it is frustrating that few significant political actors are held accountable for their roles in putting people in office who then damage the country. It is easy to vote for someone who ends up being a disaster and avoid accountability simply by staying out of relevant discussions. If you are a Jets fan you probably didn’t start a lot of discussions about football last year.

Biden’s Unspoken Aim:
Demoralize Americans

If you take the time to piece together the puzzle, you begin to see a very disturbing picture. In seven short months, the Biden administration hasn’t only, via policy and executive decisions, precipitated a dire crisis on the U.S. southern border and an unforced debacle in Afghanistan — the latter with dark strategic implications vis-à-vis the PRC, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, along with an anticipated resurgence in terrorism but appears to seek to break the American spirit.

The picture emerging strongly suggests that demoralizing Americans isn’t merely a consequence of bad policies, poor decision-making, and incompetence.

We know this: control requires submission. Saul Alinsky summed up the argument for demoralization to achieve control: “Rule 3: Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.”

And this:

Which brings us back to a people’s submission. That’s indeed a goal of the elites who underwrite the Democratic Party, the left that provides votes and muscle, and the establishment players who profit from it. It’s easier to conquer the downtrodden.

Whether or not this sinister Biden-fronted coalition succeeds is in our hands — the hands of tens of millions of patriotic Americans. Our spirits can only break if we allow it. Unbroken, we can — we must — defeat this gathering tyranny.

Watching America Surrender

Sadia Pirouzi, one of 4 women pilots in the Afghan Air Force, has been stoned to death by the Taliban. If we had an honest and effective media, you would hear her name repeatedly. If the major women’s rights groups or Democratic leadership, who claim to have a monopolies on compassion for such people, would be expressing their outrage. Their silence is just further proof of their hypocrisy. Unfortunately, Pirouzi’s death is just a preview of things to come.

Three-and-a-Half more Years
Of Biden-Harris & “The Big Fail”

The catastrophe unfolding in Afghanistan is simply the latest Big Fail by the Biden administration. The other Big Fail, still very much underway, is the dissolution of the southern border. Two million illegals are expected to invade the nation this year alone, bringing among them hardened criminals, terrorists, and Covid. But no matter, petty tyrant Democrats want to force us to mask up again and force us to vax up to “stop the spread.” Is anything more grimly laughable than that?

Inflation continues to climb, taking bigger bites from paychecks. Biden’s binge spending, with an able assist from Mitch McConnell and 18 other establishment Republicans, promises to stoke inflation even more.

And this is happening in just seven months of a four-year Biden-Harris term. If you don’t think things can get any worse, they will. Greater crises are in the offing. Democrats have repudiated Trump’s very sensible, very successful policies, foreign and domestic, and now through the next 3.5 years there will be hell to pay. Bad decisions will have terrible consequences. So, buckle up your seatbelts. The ride is going to get awfully rough.

Nothing Separates Freedom-Loving People from Fascists Like A Pandemic

The country’s response to the Coronavirus is the most damaging self-imposed event in our history. We have accepted the capricious and arbitrary taking of our rights with stunning passivity. I used to think Americans would in large numbers rise up and put a stop to massive efforts to eliminate freedoms. I thought it could never stand. Unfortunately, it seems I was wrong.

I hope the pendulum eventually swings back toward freedom. But I wouldn’t count on it.
Look at a few examples.

When conservatives, Trump supporters, or free speech advocates held rallies, they were called super spreader events. They were called destructive, selfish, dangerous, and murderers.

Afghanistan Falling: Biden’s Ignominious Retreat

As this is being written, Afghanistan is on the brink of falling to the Taliban. Recall that we went to Afghanistan in the aftermath of 9/11 to root out Al Qadi. We ended up staying for 20 years. We stayed to nation-build … to transform Afghanistan into a peaceful, Western-oriented nation (more like a collection of tribes). Now, the U.S. is on the brink of failing spectacularly.

It’s important to note that I soured on the U.S. occupation of Afghanistan about the time Donald Trump decided to seek the presidency. Millions of Americans had come to that conclusion before I did. They were right much sooner.

The FBI and DOJ Were Once Respected: We Used to Have Dinosaurs, Too

When we last visited, we had begun to discuss the decline of the FBI. Its failures go hand in hand with the corruption of the DOJ. At one point, our nationally prominent law enforcement apparatus was the envy of the world. No more.

Here are a few more instances to ponder.

As much as you may have grown weary of hearing about it, remember Hillary’s emails? There was abundant evidence she committed a crime. The FBI director laid it out publicly. Yet, “J. Edgar” Comey took it upon himself to announce a decision not to prosecute. In spite of the fact that he has zero authority to make that determination.

If You Aren’t Worried About the DOJ and FBI, You Aren’t Paying Attention

Once respected, the FBI has become a disgrace

At one point most of us trusted the nation’s pre-imminent law enforcement agency to be effective, honorable, and non-partisan. I remember watching the FBI Story, with Jimmy Stewart (he was in the movie, not watching with me). A good flick that holds up well.
No institution has ever been perfect, but Americans in general had confidence in the FBI. Even under the tutelage of a flawed and narcissistic J. Edgar Hoover, the agency was revered. (If people had known Hoover was dressing up in women’s clothes, as widely reported, it might have changed things years ago. Today, of course, it wouldn’t be a big deal. Cross-dressing? Who doesn’t?) The agency that was once thought to be above politics is now a hostage to it.
