WELCOME TO FLYOVER PATRIOTS

Welcome to Flyover. We celebrate the values that many of the political and media elites abhor. They criticize middle America – “Flyover Country” – but we take the opposite view. We believe that patriotism, liberty, and the Constitution are the foundations of American exceptionalism. We invite you to visit often. US Healthcare Provides the Highest Life Expectancy in the World

By Rob Meyne

PART ONE

If we were asked what single issue presents the greatest clarity regarding the main differences between constitutional conservatives and leftists, it would be hard to come up with a better example than healthcare. More than any issue, how a candidate or elected official discusses healthcare gives you a window into their political soul.

Our health is perennially ranked, based on surveys of American values, at the very top of our concerns. Nothing matters more to us, as a nation, than health and safety. It is therefore logical that, in recent years, there has been a great deal of criticism of the effectiveness of the U. S. healthcare system. As has been widely reported, ours is the costliest in the world. However, many critics assert that we do not deliver quality of care.

We’ve Ditched Twitter – and Glad to have Done It

By J Robert Smith

Looking at the Flyover page, you may have noticed that there are headers for Twitter threads for Rob and myself. The feeds are gone. We both quit Twitter. Good riddance.

In my case, I ended my account when oddball Jack Dorsey cancelled President Trump’s account. That was the last straw. Prior to that, beginning in July 2020, my 15,500 thousand-strong account was deboosted by Twitter. I wasn’t being singled out, though.

Two Questions for Biden

NY Post says President Biden is “Glazed and Confused”

By Rob Meyne

The past few days have presented a cornucopia of examples of precisely how different things are in the still relatively new Biden Presidency. A couple of examples, with more to come.

First, consider the events of June 6. The anniversary of D-Day. This is a good time to remember – it can be argued it was the most important military action in world history – the events that began to turn the tables in WW II.

If His Lips Are Moving, He Is Lying

Dr. Anthony Fauci

How many times do we need to learn this lesson? When an important story hits the news, our first impressions are often wrong. Sometimes, it takes months for full and accurate information to come to light. This is especially true if it is a politically charged story involving partisan discord.

The situation has been exacerbated by the willingness of social media outlets to censor information. Also culpable is the mainstream media, as they have largely abandoned of any pretense of objectivity. Most major media outlets today openly champion one political viewpoint or another, and few even make an effort to appear unbiased.

Will the Pentagon’s “UAP” Report Shake our World?

By J Robert Smith

  • May 25, 2021
  • 5 min read

Sometime in late June or early July, the Pentagon is mandated to release a report on the astonishing subject of “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP),” which is the latest terminology for UFOs – “Unidentified Flying Objects.” The report is expected to be a compendium of declassified information on the topic. Will the report prove a bombshell or a bust? That all depends on how forthcoming Uncle Sam is. In a critical sense, the Pentagon, via recent declarations, has already dropped a bombshell. It acknowledges that UAPs are the real deal. Does a bigger bombshell await?

Liz Cheney’s Pratfall

By J Robert Smith

  • May 13
  • 1 min read

On Wednesday morning by a voice vote, U.S. House Republicans ousted the odious Liz Cheney from her leadership position. Republicans really had no choice. Cheney’s unconcealed loathing for Donald Trump and her notorious vote to impeach him back in January played very poorly with the party’s base voters, who remain intensely loyal to the ex-president. When is backstabbing regarded by anybody as a stellar quality?

With Friends Like Congresswoman
Liz Cheney, Who Needs Enemies?

Anti-Trumpers, as a group, have received more than their fair share of attention. They fulfill the wildest dreams of many on the left and in the media, but I repeat myself, because they love nothing more than disloyal Republicans.

It brings them even more joy if they blame Trump for specific atrocities. A home run for them is when RINOs place blame on Trump for the “deadly” actions on January 6. Such accusations are uninformed, politically bigoted, or both. Blaming acts of violence on the politicians the criminals support is almost never reasonable and represents lazy and misleading thinking.

Trump’s Out at Facebook. Let’s Stop Chasing Big Tech Platforms

By J Robert Smith

  • 3 min read

The Facebook Oversight Board ruled earlier today that former president Donald Trump is gone from its platform – for good, it appears. Throw in Instagram.

The statement released by the Board is a bunch high-minded sounding goop. Read the decision here. Bottom-line: Banishing Trump when he was president was a powerplay. Keeping Trump off Zuckerberg’s platforms is – yes, you guessed it – a powerplay. It’s a powerplay premised on a Big Lie.

The Inflation Bombs are Falling

By J Robert Smith

  • May 4, 2021
  • 4 min read

Here’s the line coming from the very big brains out of DC and Wall Street: Inflation worries are… inflated. The economy is rebounding – in fact, beginning to surge (thanks to former President Donald Trump’s economic recovery policies, but don’t expect the establishment to give him any props). Hence, with demand climbing, supply chains are being hard-pressed. Higher demand + crimped supply = higher costs. But, no worries, that’s only a short-term phenomenon. Once supply catches up to – or exceeds – demand, costs will level off and decline.
